What is Immortality? From ancient Greek myth to modern science, people long to obtain it but the question is: Who does it belong to, the body or the soul?

Since the times of Ancient Greece, people revered the concept of immortality. Envisioning mythical remedies such as Nectar and Ambrosia, to give the gift of immortality. Alas, these were reserved for the Gods. Some lucky few on the other hand, like Psyche, were granted the gift of immortality. Though, this came after a series of great trials, that she overcame on account of her commitment and love for Eros. Some argue that this symbolized the death of her physical body and that her soul found eternal peace in the land of the Gods. How have our views changed since? In a world run by vanity and greed? Many investors point out the lucrative possibilities in “a cure for aging”. A handful of biotech companies have already reversed aging, something that the general population may find unnatural or disturbing. Would we be living forever? Or suffering forever?

Details about the dance: The dance is split into two parts, one for psyche and Eros, and one for the “biotech investor” and his inner self. (The two stories are separate 5 minute (approx.) choreographies). Psyche will enact the completion of her trails and reunion with Eros, leading to her immortality and peace. The investor’s story depicts his greed and struggle to obtain youth, causing an inner battle within himself. This srtuggle consumes him, leading to his suffering.
